Paolo Baldesi is a Senior Vice President of Fernweh Group, an investment company which is deploying an engaged investor & operator model (EIOM) to create alpha in the industrial/ industrial tech sector.

Paolo is a former Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company’s New Jersey Office, and he was a co-founder of the North America B2B industrial services practice. During his tenure at McKinsey & Company, he served large-cap and mid-cap industrial institutions across North America, Europe, Middle East, and Asia. At those clients, Paolo led accelerated growth through organic programs and rapid programmatic M&A efforts.

At McKinsey, he also co-authored several of McKinsey leading industrials research: McKinsey on Industrial Services, McKinsey on Packaging, and McKinsey on Building Materials.

Early in his career, Paolo was an Associate at a middle market New York based private equity fund focused on buyouts and turnarounds of industrial companies; prior to that he worked as a manufacturing engineer at a nanotechnology start up in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Paolo has an MEng in Manufacturing Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a MS in Mechanical Engineering from La Sapienza University of Rome, and a master’s in business administration from Columbia Business School.
